Delhi govt announces admission test guidelines for CM Shri schools for Classes 6 to 8

According to the Delhi government, which released comprehensive rules for the procedure, 33 of the 75 CM SHRI schools will administer an entrance exam for admission to grades 6–8.
For the school year 2025–2026, the Directorate of Education will administer the CM SHRI Schools Admission Test 2025.
The goal of the CM SHRI schools, which were designated as "Specified Category" institutions under Section 2 of the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 2009, is to establish model public schools that are in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and have cutting-edge facilities and creative teaching methods.

According to the criteria, the admission test would be a "fair, transparent, and merit-based selection process," and only pupils who currently reside in Delhi and are enrolled in classes 6–8 at an approved Delhi-based school during the 2025–2026 academic year are eligible to apply.
According to the statement, kids enrolled in Delhi's government or government-aided schools, such as those run by the Directorate of Education (DoE), MCD, NDMC, Kendriya Vidyalayas, and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, will be given preference for at least 50% of the available seats.
The guideline also stated that, in accordance with government policy, students who fall under the SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer) and Children With Special Needs (CWSN) categories will receive a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks.
According to the statement, the test is set for August 30 from 11 a.m. to 1.30 p.m., and the online application window will commence on July 30 and run through August 15. Admit cards will be accessible starting on August 23.
According to the standards, admissions must be finished by September 15 and results will be announced on September 10.
There won't be any negative marking on the objective, OMR-based test. Hindi, English, General Awareness, Mental Ability, and Numerical Aptitude are the five main areas that will be covered in this bilingual course. It further stated that the test will last 150 minutes in total, with additional time given to CWSN candidates in accordance with current standards.
To guarantee geographic accessibility, exam centers will be established in a number of the Directorate's schools, according to DoE.
According to an official, the Delhi government is expected to open its recently announced CM Shri schools in September as plans to operationalize the establishments pick up speed.
