CTET 2026 Schedule

The schedule and format of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) have been changed, and now the CBSE has posted the full exam schedule for the February 2026 session. The board has decided to conduct the test over two days instead of one day in order to better manage the logistics at the test centers because there has been a significant increase in the number of candidates who are registered for this test compared to previous years.
According to a notification issued on Monday, instead of taking place on February 8, 2026, CTET will occur over two days: February 7 and 8, 2026. The CBSE stated that "this change will enable examination centres across the country to prepare more appropriately and will allow for an easier administration of the examination".
According to the Board, the CTET will be held two times a day; once for Paper I, and once for Paper II in two shifts. Testing will take place at 140 different locations across India. Candidates should carefully read through their admit card to find out the date of their exam (whether they are taking Paper I or Paper II), the shift time, and the location where they need to report.
| Date | Paper | Time | Duration |
| February 7, 2026 | Paper II | 9:30 am to 12:00 noon | 2 hours 30 minutes |
| February 7, 2026 | Paper I | 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm | 2 hours 30 minutes |
| February 8, 2026 | Paper II | 9:30 am to 12:00 noon | 2 hours 30 minutes |
| February 8, 2026 | Paper I | 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm | 2 hours 30 minutes |
Candidates who are registered to take the exam, as per CBSE instructions, must be at their designated testing site at least 1 hour before to the start of the exam; therefore, latecomers after this time will not be admitted.
