UGC NET June 2025 Results: Subject-wise cut-offs for JRF

The results of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2025 test were released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 21. Those who took the exam in this session can view their scorecards at ugcnet.nta.ac.in, the official website. Candidates' eligibility for Assistant Professor positions, Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs), and admission to PhD programs in Indian universities and colleges is determined by the Computer-Based Test (CBT) exam, which is administered from June 18 to 21.
7,52,007 of the 10,19,751 candidates who registered for the June 2025 round actually showed up. 54,885 individuals were eligible for both PhD admission and assistant professorship, 1,28,179 candidates were eligible for PhD admission only, and 5,269 candidates were eligible for both JRF and assistant professorship based on performance and cut-off scores.
Candidates are shortlisted based on subject-wise and category-specific cut-off marks. The cut-off score determines eligibility for:
–Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
–Assistant Professorship and PhD admission
–PhD admission only
Candidates are deemed eligible for the appropriate levels if they achieve the minimal score needed in their category and topic.
Candidates who meet the requirements for the JRF are able to apply for assistant professor posts as well as supported research positions in institutions.
Those who meet the requirements for an assistant professorship are eligible to apply for teaching jobs in Indian colleges and universities. In accordance with the policies of their individual universities, candidates who have been shortlisted under the PhD-only category may now apply for admission to doctorate programs.
