The formal proceedings began with the welcome and felicitation of the dignitaries with bouquets and ceremonial shawls.
Prof. Ajay Singoli welcomed the dignitaries and spoke about the importance of skill development, entrepreneurship and practical education in preparing young people for the future. Emphasising the need to move beyond conventional employment, he said, “Make young Indians job creators, not job seekers.”
Addressing the gathering, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Ashok K. Nagawat spoke about DSEU’s vision of bringing education, skills, creativity and entrepreneurship together. He emphasised that education should not only lead to employment but should also help students develop confidence, identity and a meaningful place in society. He highlighted the University’s progress, industry engagement, women-focused initiatives and short-term skill and certification programmes, and described students as ambassadors of DSEU. Linking knowledge, skills and national development, he said, “Knowledge makes skills, skills makes opportunity, opportunity empowers the nation.”
Prof. Bhim Singh, Guest of Honour, congratulated DSEU on its Foundation Day and spoke about the role of technology, education and entrepreneurship in creating opportunities for young people. Drawing on his experience in technology and innovation, he encouraged students to apply their knowledge to practical challenges and use education as a means of empowerment.
The Chief Guest, Shri Pawan Jindal, focused on the importance of complementing formal education with practical skills, confidence and experience. Sharing experiences from his own journey, he stressed that an individual’s background or conventional educational limitations should not restrict aspirations. He referred to the journeys of personalities such as N. R. Narayana Murthy, O. P. Jindal, Dhirubhai Ambani, the founder of MDH, Baba Ramdev and Lal Bahadur Shastri as examples of determination, initiative and the ability to recognise opportunities.
For aspiring entrepreneurs, Shri Jindal highlighted three essentials — costing, quality and commitment — stressing the importance of competitive costing, maintaining quality and fulfilling commitments. He also cited a skill-development centre in Panipat as an example of how training can translate into employment as well as opportunities for entrepreneurship. His address repeatedly emphasised the importance of developing practical capabilities and moving from being job seekers to becoming creators of opportunities.
Shri Shailendra Singh Parihar, IAS, Registrar, DSEU, highlighted the potential of the young University and encouraged continuous improvement and higher aspirations. Drawing an analogy between a small seed and a large tree, he emphasised that meaningful achievements often begin with small but determined steps.
The formal proceedings were followed by the memento and felicitation ceremony, during which the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour were presented with mementos and Anga Vastra, while other key dignitaries and members associated with the Foundation Day organising team were also felicitated.
The formal session concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Narayan Agrawal, Campus Director, DSEU Dwarka. He expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, University leadership, faculty, staff, students and the organising team, and acknowledged the efforts that contributed to the successful conduct of the celebration.
Following the formal session, the Student Campus Ambassadors - Media & PR were introduced and invited to the stage, where they were formally welcomed and presented with certificates of joining, marking their official association with the Campus Ambassador programme.
The celebrations then moved to the cultural programme, which emerged as one of the major highlights of the Foundation Day. Students presented performances representing Rajasthani, Haryanvi and other regional traditions, showcasing India’s cultural diversity through music, dance, costumes and choreography. The programme also featured a study-related performance based on the song “Ik Zindagi Meri So Khwaishaa Ik Ik Me Poori Kra,” conveying a message of aspiration and motivation for students.
The performances received an enthusiastic response from the audience and reflected the creativity, confidence and cultural participation of DSEU students. The programme brought together diverse regional traditions on a common platform and added a strong student-centric dimension to the Foundation Day celebrations.
The celebrations concluded with a Kavi Sammelan organised by the Rajbhasha Prakoshth, DSEU, at Bharatmuni Auditorium. The poetry session featured Dr. Kirti Kale, Alok Aviral, Namita Naman, Prakhar Malviya “Kanha”, Dr. Pankaj Shyam Lathar and Colonel Sanjay Chaturvedi.
The 7th Foundation Day celebration brought together DSEU’s institutional journey, its focus on skills and entrepreneurship, and the creativity and enthusiasm of its students, reaffirming the University’s commitment to skill-based education, practical learning and preparing young people for a changing world of work.
