Russia is now the top choice for Indian students pursuing MBBS.

Ten prestigious universities participated in the 26th Russian Education Fair, which was held in New Delhi and was coordinated by the Russian Centre for Science and Culture and Rus-Education. It demonstrated Russia's increasing appeal to Indian medical students.
Among the institutions present were Orenburg State Medical University, Perm State Medical University, BB Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University, Pskov State University, and Mari State University.
With an emphasis on drawing in Indian applicants, these universities highlighted their facilities, academic programs, and student support services tailored specifically for overseas students.
Mumbai, Trivandrum, Kolkata, Patna, Ahmedabad, and Indore were among the Indian cities where the fair was held earlier this month. Chandigarh and Jaipur will shortly follow.
In response to the growing interest from Indian students, Mari State University's vice chancellor noted that there are no national barriers to admission to Russian universities.
She compared this open-door policy to the more stringent immigration and educational policies that many Western nations have implemented, especially with regard to medical education.
She declared, "We will do everything in our power to welcome everyone and ensure that they receive a good education."
The number of Indian students studying in Russia has increased gradually from 19,784 in 2022 to 31,444 in 2024, according to data from India's Ministry of External Affairs. The most popular program is medical education.
Russian universities are dedicated to preserving educational quality while expanding access.
