NEET UG 2026 Exam Cancelled : According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the NEET UG 2026 examination on May 3 was called off by the National Testing Agency. The Union Government had come under intense criticism from opposition party members as well as Ashok Gehlot, the former chief minister, regarding NEET UG paper leak allegations.
The reasons that prompted NTA to take the decision included concerns over paper leakage and the mismanagement of the national-level medical examination process. "On the advise of central investigative agencies, and findings communicated by the investigating agency," NTA took the decision, as per its statement.
The authority asserts that on May 8, the matter was referred to the central authorities for review and verification. The NTA says it has been collaborating with authorities to assess the effect on the integrity of the examination process, assessing information and reports regarding the violation.
Now, the examination body has made the announcement that it will conduct the test afresh for NEET UG 2026 on a date that will be announced later after receiving approval from the Indian government. As per the official notification, it was necessary to conduct such a move in order to maintain transparency and fairness regarding one of the largest entrance examinations for admission in the field of medicine.
