According to the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, TIFR, the Indian team won three gold and two silver medals at the 55th International Chemistry Olympiad (IPhO) 2025. The event took place from July 18 to July 24 in Paris, France.
Snehil Jha from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh; Riddhesh Anant Bendale from Indore, Madhya Pradesh; and Kanishk Jain from Pune, Maharashtra, are the gold medal winners. Rajit Gupta from Kota, Rajasthan, and Aagam Jignesh Shah from Surat, Gujarat, took home the silver medals.

Vinayak Katdare, a retired faculty member from DG Ruparel College in Mumbai, and Prof. Sitikantha Das of IIT Kharagpur led the Indian team. Two scientists, Dr. Vivek Lohani of Robert Bosch GmbH in Germany and Dr. Amruta Sadhu of St. Xavier's College in Mumbai, accompanied them.

One of the most prominent international contests for pre-university students, the International Physics Olympiad assesses their theoretical and experimental knowledge in physics.

According to the statement, India, Taiwan, Japan, and Russia (who were all competing under the Olympiad banner) shared fifth place in the country-by-country medal count. With five gold medals, the USA took the top spot. With four gold and one silver medal apiece, South Korea, China, and Hong Kong shared second place. The tournament attracted 415 students from 87 different nations. It was one of the biggest IPhOs to date, with five additional nations taking part as observers.

India participated in the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) for the 26th time. Nearly 42% of Indian students have won gold medals, 42% have won silver, 11% have won bronze, and 5% have received honorable mentions, demonstrating their steady high performance over the years.

Interestingly, every Indian competitor at IPhO has brought home a medal in the last ten years, with 42% taking home silver and 58% taking home gold.

At the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2025, which was hosted in Sunshine Coast, Australia, India placed seventh out of 110 competing nations. The six-person Indian squad came back with three golds, two silvers, and one bronze. In addition to earning a global ranking, the team set a new national record for the highest score ever attained by India in IMO history with a cumulative score of 193 out of 252.

Additionally, the Indian team won two gold and two silver medals at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO), which took place in Dubai from July 5–14. Out of the 90 competing nations, the four-member team placed sixth overall in the medal standings.

The Tata Institute of Fundamental Research's Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) was in charge of the Indian contingent's selection and training. In mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, and astronomy, HBCSE is the nodal organization for administering the National Olympiad Examinations.
