New Delhi/Gurgaon, Sep 23: Controversy has erupted after the director of a campus of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) was allegedly caught at the premises of a paying guest (PG) in Sector 38 of Gurgaon during a joint operation by the Gurgaon Police and the Haryana State Commission for Women.
The joint operation carried out on Saturday led to the arrest of 13 men and 8 women for interrogation. The police were investigating the alleged prostitution racket run by the PG. Sahil and his wife were arrested in connection with the case, while the police stated that they were analyzing electronic evidence to identify further people involved in the case.
One of the photographs/videos posted online claims to have been taken during the raid and captures some people seated on the floor in the building. The person sitting at the far left of the picture is said to be Dr. Ghanshyam, who held the post of Campus Director of Ambedkar DSEU Shakarpur Campus-I. In the 2024 admission brochure of DSEU, Dr. Ghanshyam has been identified as the director/campus in-charge of Ambedkar DSEU Shakarpur Campus-I.
This development came into focus especially due to the important administrative role held by Dr Ghanshyam at the government university in Delhi. As per reports, DSEU has removed Dr Ghanshyam from his duties and has also put one other campus director in charge of the campus. It is also being reported that until then, DSEU had not received any official communication from the police or another authority in regard to the case.
It is crucial to note that one's mere presence in a particular place during a police operation does not constitute proof of their involvement in the racket being investigated. It is essential to find out the details of the presence of Dr Ghanshyam in the PG and any criminal involvement, if there is any, of the person under investigation.
Haryana State Commission for Women and the Gurugram Police authorities claim that the raid conducted in Sector 38 has been conducted on the basis of an investigation into the case reported by a rescued girl.
