CBSE launches psycho-social counselling support for students
...

According to an official statement, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced that it will be conducting the first phase of its annual free Psycho-Social Counseling Services for Class X and XII students from January 6, 2026, to June 1, 2026, thus, again proving its dedication to the overall wellness of students.

The objective of the program is to tackle exam stress and emotional well-being so that the students can approach their forthcoming Theory Exams, which are going to be held from February 17, 2026, with confident, balanced, and clear minds.

A primary feature of student support is a 24-hour helpline which students can access anytime. By calling 1800118004, the Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) enables students to get on-the-spot help in Hindi and English. An official statement says that the service provides students with tips on how to study without anxiety, manage their time and stress effectively, answer frequently asked questions, and the most important CBSE contacts, which they can use if necessary.

A panel consisting of 73 certified and skilled professionals, comprising of heads, school counselors, special educators from CBSE affiliated schools and licensed psychologists, is ready to interact with the students and parents. Among them, 12 counselors are located in Nepal, Japan, Qatar, Oman, and the UAE, whereas 61 counselors are Indian based which provide a huge and very diverse voluntary support network.

The CBSE website presents a carefully-selected variety of resources on stress management, effective studying methods, and emotional wellness. These resources are said to be interesting, concise, and very accessible for the students according to the announcement.

CBSE has been continuously making effort for students' psycho-social well-being during the Class X/XII examination cycle and therefore invites parents and students to avail these support services as the Board's continuing efforts.

CBSE has launched the annual Psycho-Social Counseling Services program in order to help students deal with the stress of examinations. The Board promoted these services among parents and students during the first phase of the program on the dates from February 1 till April 4, 2025.
