CBSE double board exams starting from 2026
...

Students in Class 10 will be permitted to sit for the CBSE board exams twice in a single academic year starting in 2026. They must, however, participate in the initial phase, which takes place in February.

Those who wish to raise their marks might choose not to participate in the second round, which is set for May.

The National Education Policy (NEP), which suggests giving students two opportunities every year to lessen the burden of board exams, served as the basis for the new regulations that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) approved.

According to CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, the first exam results would be revealed in April, and the second exam results will follow in June.

In up to three subjects—science, math, social science, and languages—students can attempt to raise their grades.

Before being finalized, these draft guidelines were first made available in February for public comment.
