As part of the International Women's Day celebrations, DSEU Dwarka Campus, Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University organized a awareness session on HPV vaccination and breast cancer awareness on 9 March 2026 at Room No. 315. The session commenced at 10:00 AM and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The event was blessed by the visionary leadership of Prof. Ashok K Nagawat, Honble VC,DSEU Sir and graced by the presence of Dr. Pankaj Lathar, Campus Director, and Dr. Anantabotla VamsiMohan, Associate Campus Director, whose presence encouraged and motivated the participants and organizers.

The session was organized by the Student Advisory Team of Dwarka Campus, DSEU, under the guidance of the Campus Director, Dr. Pankaj Lathar. The primary objective of the seminar was to spread awareness about the importance of HPV vaccination, breast cancer prevention, and the significance of early detection in reducing cancer risks among women. The event aimed to educate students about preventive healthcare practices and promote responsible health awareness in society.

The seminar featured an informative talk by Dr. Shashi Rakheja, Senior Consultant in Preventive Oncology at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, who has over 30 years of experience in cancer prevention and community awareness. During her session, she explained the role of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) in cervical cancer and highlighted how HPV vaccination can significantly reduce the risk of developing cervical cancer.

Dr. Rakheja also discussed the risk factors, symptoms, and preventive measures related to breast cancer, emphasizing the importance of regular health check-ups, self-examination, and early diagnosis. She encouraged students to become more aware of their health and to spread this knowledge within their families and communities. Dr Shashi Rakheja demonstrated the process of breast self-examination. Breast Self-Examination (BSE) is a simple method by which a woman checks her own breasts regularly to detect any unusual changes that may indicate Breast Cancer at an early stage. 

The session was highly interactive, where students actively participated by asking questions related to vaccination, cancer screening, and preventive healthcare. Dr. Rakheja addressed the queries with practical insights and emphasized the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and regular medical consultation.

The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the speaker, the presence of the distinguished campus authorities, faculty members, and the enthusiastic participation of students. The event successfully fulfilled its purpose of raising awareness about women's health and preventive measures against cancer, leaving the participants more informed and motivated to promote health awareness.
